Romans 3:22-24 (NIV)
This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:1-2 (NIV)
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Ephesians 2:6-9 (NIV)
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
Be encouraged! Grace is a wonderful thing – how much more is found in the grace of God? – however far you reach, there will always be infinitely more beyond. ‘His grace is sufficient’ is quite an understatement in many ways really! All this, not so that we can be simply free to do whatever we like when we like, rather to be set free from the roots and results of doing whatever we like when we like, and instead becoming more like Jesus and therefore doing what he asks of us completely freely and willingly.
